Hey everyone, I’m Chris Jay (of Xtreme Bahamas Fishing fame! follow me on facebook here), and I wanted to show you my top five Bahamas fishing videos! There are some really great videos out there, and I had a lot of trouble whittling them down into my favourite picks! Take a look and see what you think of them:
#5 – The First Wahoo
I love this for the simple reason that it shows you just how passionate people can get about fishing. Nick is just about over the moon in this video, like it says in the description, and it’s just a joy to watch. I’m pretty sure everyone who watches this one is going to have had a similar moment in their past when they began fishing as well, and hauled in that first big catch.
#4 – Solo Exuma Fishing
Don’t get me wrong – I love the videos of guys chilling out and bantering back and forth on boats just as much as the next guy – but one look at this video, and although it doesn’t have much in the way of speaking, you know it’s something special. If you’re into fishing technique, I think there’s a ton of stuff you can learn about going it solo from this guy.
#3 – Bonefishing at Exuma
This video has some great shots of bonefishing – but the reason it made my top five was the quality of the underwater footage. If there’s one thing videos can do amazingly when it comes to showing the fishing experience, it’s showing it from a fish-eye view! If you want to check it out, I’ll stand by the fact that 0:32 and 1:10 are seriously beautiful to watch.
#2 – Fast-Paced Bimini Finshing
This video is absolutely action-packed – it follows the Big Boy Fishing Team as they head over to Bimini and have an amazing time deep-dropping. There are plenty of these kinds of videos, but this is definitely one of the best – I love the sense of fun and the pride these guys have in their skills and their catches. It really shows the joy of fishing, especially when you manage to haul in the fish these guys do!
#1 – An Andros Event to Remember
At number one – drumroll, please! – we have this brilliant video of a spectacular fifteen minutes of fishing near Andros. Don’t worry – it’s not a fifteen minute long video! Instead, it’s a tightly edited, beautifully shot portrayal of an awesome time, and it really captures the entire experience of heading out on a boat together to test yourself against the fish.
So that’s my top five. I hope you enjoyed them! There are plenty of these videos on YouTube, though, so if you have a little time on your hands, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to find your own favourites. If you do, then why not share them? If there’s one thing I love about going looking for these, it’s seeing what other people think as well. There are a lot of amazing videos of talented fishermen out there, and they deserve to have a moment in the sun from time to time.
Good luck – can’t wait to see the ones you ‘catch’!
